Lititz’s Moravian Church’s Candlelight Christmas services are popular. They’re so popular that the church hosts six of them – and requires tickets due to demand.

There’s no charge for tickets, but individuals must have a ticket to attend one of the services.

As of this week, tickets remain for just two services: 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 16, and 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 24. Those interested in tickets for those services are encouraged to come to the church’s public distribution event, from 6:30-8 p.m. Monday in the Fellowship Hall, located next to the church.

Those who are unable to attend the public distribution event due to physical limitations or living further away may call the church office at 717-626-8515 to request tickets. However, tickets must be picked up in person. Those with questions may call the church office, as well.

Doors will open one hour in advance of each service, and worshipers are encouraged to arrive 20 minutes before the scheduled beginning to hear the extensive prelude music. Additionally, the Moravian Trombone Choir plays Christmas carols on the Church Square after each service. The Lititz Moravian Putz, a Christmas diorama, will be open for viewing after vigils.

The Candlelight Christmas Vigil services include nursery care. Because the experience of darkness and sudden light may frighten children, parents are cautioned about bringing young children to the vigils, and may wish to consider attending the Christmas Family Lovefeast. The Christmas Family Lovefeast event does not require tickets and begins at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Dec. 24.

Lititz Moravian Church is handicapped accessible, and parking is available behind the church and at Pierson playground off Dixon Street.

Lititz Moravian Church is at 8 Church Square in Lititz.
