Police seized firearms, fentanyl and body armor Monday from a Lancaster city couple they had been tracking.

Austin Turner, 27, of 417 Hillside Ave., and his girlfriend, Ashley Alicea, 35, of 842 Marjory Terrace, were arrested Monday after police seized two handguns.

A member of the Lancaster City Police Selective Enforcement Unit, a patrol focused on street-level offenses, was on the 400 block of Green Street, near King Elementary School, when he saw Alicea, who had a suspended license, driving Turner, who was wanted on a firearm violation. She turned onto the 500 block of Southeast Avenue.

Officers arrested Turner on his outstanding charges and found 129 grams of marijuana, 84 fentanyl pills, 11.1 grams of crack cocaine, a .40-caliber handgun with an altered serial number, a 9 mm handgun and other drug paraphernalia. Turner is not eligible to own a gun because he is a convicted felon.

Turner was found wearing ballistic body armor, and police added a charge of possessing unlawful body armor, but it has since been dropped from his docket.

Both were charged with carrying a firearm without a license and two counts of drug possession with intent to deliver, and Alicea was charged with driving without a license. Turner was additionally charged with illegal possession of firearms, possession of a firearm with an altered serial number and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Both are currently in Lancaster County Prison, with Turner unable to post $250,000 bail and Aliecea unable to post $100,000 bail. Turner and Alicea are scheduled for preliminary hearings Dec. 29.
