Five Lancaster-Lebanon League football standouts were honored Thursday, when the Pennsylvania Football Writers Class 1A, 2A and 3A All-State teams were revealed.

In Class 2A, Annville-Cleona defensive back Cael Harter, who helped the Dutchmen share the Section Five title and earn a return trip to the District 3 playoffs as the No. 1 seed, was tabbed.

And in Class 3A, Lancaster Catholic ace running back Elijah Cunningham, Hamburg tight end Mason Semmel, and Wyomissing teammates Caleb Brewer, a punishing defensive tackle, and Ryker Jones, a tackle-machine linebacker, were honored.

The Class 4A, Class 5A and Class 6A teams will be released Friday.

Harter was the L-L League Section 5 Defensive Back of the Year after he piled up 88 tackles with four stops for losses, four interceptions and a pair of forced fumbles.

Cunningham was tabbed L-L League Section 5 Offensive Back and Outstanding Back of the Year, and he picked up the Lions Club Section Five MVP award. He rushed for 1,821 yards with 28 TD runs — both second-best in the league. Cunningham also helped the Crusaders share the section crown, and go back to the District 3 playoffs.

Semmel had an outstanding season in the pass-catching department for Hamburg, hauling in 43 receptions for 884 yards with 12 TD grabs. The Hawks won six games and played in the Eastern Conference playoff championship.

Brewer, a Penn State recruit, and Jones, a Princeton commit, were key cogs for a Wyomissing team that won its fifth straight District 3 championship and made a return trip to the state semifinals.

Brewer was named L-L League Section 4 Offensive Lineman of the Year, Defensive Lineman of the Year and Outstanding Lineman of the Year — gobbling up all three of those major awards.

Jones made a triumphant return to the field after recovering from offseason knee surgery. He was named L-L League Section 4 Linebacker of the Year for his exploits.
