Denim Coffee is planning a Lancaster city coffee shop at 221 W. King St.

Chambersburg-based Denim Coffee is making plans to open a new location in Lancaster city.

Denim Coffee, which has five retail shops in the region, will open a city shop at 221 W. King St., the former home of Chris’ Buy & Sell, which is on the first floor of an apartment building that is currently being renovated.

Denim Coffee is owned by Tony Diehl along with Matt and Kristin Ramsay. They have coffee shop locations in Chambersburg, Mechanicsburg and Harrisburg as well as two in Carlisle: one on the campus of Dickinson College and another in downtown Carlisle. In addition to its retail shops, Denim Coffee is a wholesale supplier of coffee produced at its headquarters in Chambersburg.

Diehl said they are still waiting for necessary building permits to begin work on their Lancaster city coffee shop but anticipates an opening sometime in the spring.
