Police are looking for Marietta Borough's George James Ditzler III who is wanted for attempted homicide in Oregon. 

Lancaster police arrested a Marietta man on Friday who is wanted on an attempted murder charge in Oregon. 

George James Ditzler III, 44, of 668 Essex St., on the western edge of the borough, is wanted in Washington County, Oregon, for attempted murder with a firearm, according to Susquehanna Regional police.

Susquehanna Regional Police learned Ditzler may have been staying with relatives in Lancaster and contacted Lancaster police. Lancaster police went to the home in the 400 block of West Vine Street Friday morning and spoke by phone with someone in the house. 

Ditzler surrendered without incident to police after about 25 minutes, Lancaster police said.

Oregon authorities will coordinate with the Lancaster County District Attorney's office to arrange extradition to Oregon.

Details of the attempted homicide in Oregon were not immediately available. 

Ditzler spent time in the U.S. military and is a 1998 graduate of Hempfield High School.
