Ward Burton is set to get back behind the wheel of a race car for the first time in more than a decade.
According to multiple reports, the 62-year-old former Daytona 500 winner is set to drive in the Rogers Heating and Cooling Orange Krush 200 on March 28 at Orange County Speedway in Rougemont, North Carolina.
His son, NASCAR driver Jeb Burton, is also reportedly competing in the race.
Proceeds from ticket sales will reportedly go to benefit the Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation.

“I’m looking forward to having some fun out there and the track again with some of the best in the business and have the opportunity to race against my son!” Burton reportedly said. “I can promise we’ll put on a great show for the fans and hopefully raise a lot of money and awareness to further The Ward Burton Wildlife Foundation’s conservation and outreach efforts, including continuing to expand opportunities to host Veterans and their families at our properties and events.”

Burton has experience at Orange County Speedway, winning an Xfinity Series race there in 1993.
Burton ran in more than 375 NASCAR Cup Series races, winning the 2002 Daytona 500 and the 2001 Southern 500. He had five wins and 82 top 10 finishes.
