2023 Warwick at McCaskey Track & Field

Reese Olenik of McCaskey lands during his long jump attempt against Warwick during L-L League track and field action at McCaskey School in Lancaster on Tuesday, April 11, 2023.

McCaskey’s girls track and field team has another collection of sprinters ready to make their mark. Leading the way is Aasly DeLeon.

The senior swept the 60 and 200 meters at the Franklin & Marshall High School Invite over the weekend. DeLeon’s time of 7.84 in the 60 ranks third in the state this winter. She ran the 200 in 26.38.

Corrine Miller finished second to her teammate in both events. Isabel Roman was third and Damani Crosson placed fourth to give McCaskey the top four runners in the 200.

Penn Manor produced two first-place finishers. Brianna Lee took the high jump at 5-4, ahead of Warwick’s Katie Becker at 5-2. Kate Harnish took the long jump at 17-0.5 and was second in the pole vault at 11-6.

Lancaster-Lebanon League girls have posted three of the top 15 results in the long jump this winter with Warwick’s Lily Smith and Solanco’s Olianna Oravitz also surpassing 17 feet.

The other girls winner at the F&M Invite was Warwick’s Leah Richie, who took the 400 in 1:01.99.

On the boys side, Ephrata’s Nick Keller won the 400 in 50.02, the third-best time this indoor season, and was second in the 60. Keller captured gold in all three sprint events at the L-L championships in May.

Penn Manor’s Kaleb Kabakjian won the 800 in 2:03.86 and was second in the 1,600. McCaskey’s Reese Olenik won the long jump at 20-8.75.
